Work at the Institute

The department has been pursuing intensive clinical research since 1999, reflected in both scientific lectures and publications, as well as in the implementation of new surgery methods and the award of academic prizes. One of the department’s points of focus is on the investigation and treatment of post-prostatectomy incontinence. The Pro-ACT method, first carried out in our department in 1998, is now used around the world (with the exception of the USA, where the FDA approval process is currently under way). At the same time, a method for the treatment of nephroptosis with minimum invasive measures has been developed. Another point of focus is on the analysis of the “active surveillance strategy” for prostate carcinoma using dietary supplements. Here again, long-term observation has been implemented since 1998. At the same time, we also conduct research in the field of the perioperative use of antioxidants in the case of radical post-prostatectomy.
